Truora’s “Talento Startup” platform connects job seekers with companies

May 25, 2020

With Covid-19, startups are expanding into new territory. Truora is a Colombian startup that (under normal circumstances) develops software to run background checks.

This service is usually for fintechs to validate a person’s digital identity. Likewise HR departments employ Truora’s services to verify a potential job candidate’s record. In short, fraud prevention is this startup’s specialty.

But with Covid-19, the economic slump, and subsequent layoffs, it recently launched a new platform, “Talento Startup”. Through this site, job seekers gain visibility and can connect with HR managers looking for candidates.

Truora’s Talento Startup platform

Mind you, Talento Startup isn’t a full-suite aimed at HR recruitment and job postings.

It consists of a Google form for job seekers to fill out with their basic contact information and LinkedIn profile. Businesses can sign up on the platform too and view the registered candidates that match the profile they’re looking for. If a firm has to let go of staff, and wants to help them find another job, they can register them on Truora as well.

Note that the actual point of contact between a prospective employee and a company is done through LinkedIn.

In any case, it’s a positive way to more easily liaise businesses that already work with Truora, like Rappi and DogHero, with job seekers. If you’re interested in signing up or registering your company, you can access the Talento Startup page here.

This isn’t the first time Truora releases a service because of the Covid-19 contagion. Since late March, Colombia has been under mandatory quarantine. Consequently, only authorized personnel such as healthcare workers and food deliverers are allowed to be out and about.

To oversee adherence to these orders, Truora has been working with government officials to verify the credentials and identity of passersby on the streets to reassure they’re authorized to circulate.
